  • Shalanda Jackson

    Assistant Property Manager

Shalanda Jackson moved to NC as a young child and though she moved around a bit, she always found herself coming back here, where she has ultimately settled. Shalanda has spent two decades in real estate: 14 years were in residential real estate before she transitioned to commercial real estate and property management. The personal side of the business is what Shalanda finds most appealing: she wants to help people and build relationships.

When she isn’t tending to one of the properties she manages, Shalanda might be visiting one of her two favorite places: an aquarium or a beach. No surprise, then, that she collects turtles. Shalanda’s family is the most important thing in her life. She even started a non-profit called K.A. Cares in honor of her niece, who has Angelman Syndrome. Shalanda has a personal motto that we know makes her not only a great person, but also an effective property manager: “True kindness and love can change anything! Once you change your mindset, you can change the world.”

Dawson grew up in Cape Hatteras in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Criminal Justice but felt there was a better way to have an impact on people’s lives and so he got his Real Estate license. This drive to help people was forged in his youth as he worked at his family’s motel and vacation properties and later on the ocean rescue squad in Buxton, NC.

Dawson is a gym rat and would admit to being addicted to playing Billiards. A big fan of grunge music, he lists Soundgarden and Alice in Chains among his favorites. Dawson is committed to making this job not just a career, but his craft, and we are excited to see where he takes it!

An animal lover in general with the ultimate goal of working in wildlife conservation, she solidified her love of birds during her 3.5 years as a veterinary assistant at a bird hospital. Working with animals somewhat prepared Esther for property management as you really never know what might go wrong in a day and you may need to react quickly to an emergency situation. In the meantime, she’s very much enjoying learning the property management ropes. Esther prides herself on her extremely green thumb, and she’s excited to have ventured recently into orchid territory.
