The Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard is located
approximately 12 miles from downtown Charlottesville at 3550 Blenheim
Road in Albemarle County. It is one of eight vineyards in Albemarle
County but hosts the best and most successful wine from the area.
Thomas Jefferson originally planted the oldest vineyard in the late
1700’s. Wine growing and production has been in existence since then.
The Kluge Winery and Estate currently offers an extensive vineyard with
tours and tastings, a Farm Shop that sells local wares, a museum and
other attractions. It is
also the home of Patricia Kluge and Bill Moses; they live in the
Albemarle House.
The project consists of 511 acres of land that will be developed into 31
residential lots for sale. The project is separated into three areas of
land that border each other but are currently planned to be developed as
individual projects. The current planning will include road
construction through each of the sites but without any roads connecting
the phases. Each phase is planned to having its unique identity and
access.
